February Creative Challenge for CDD

Hello Crafty Friends,

I'm back to share my first February Design Team Creative Challenge. This challenge was to showcase our favorite color combos to use with red/pink. One of my personal favorites is to use green. So naturally I thought of using these adorable avocados. For this card, I decided to make a double gate folded card (measurements, etc. in bottom picture of this post). A light bulb went off when I realized that if you overlap the two avocados they look like a whole one! Closed they are together as one and open you see they are two separate ones. Yes I had way too much fun with this one. :)

I used my Copics for most of the coloring with some white pencil highlights. I also used a wink of stella for some shimmer and the amazing Doodlebug paper pad "So Punny". All can be found in the Craftin' Desert Divas Store.

The "Let's Avocuddle"digital image can be found here. And the sequins you see in the background called "Sweetness Sequins" can be found here.

I hope this gives you some inspiration to try something new!

Owl Couple in Love -- CDD new January 2019 Release

Hello Again,

So excited to share my 2nd DT project for the new January release at Craftin' Desert Divas.

I used the adorable new Owl Couple and the Valentine Cookies using a no-line coloring technique. I printed the image in light grey and used my Copic markers for the coloring (list below). Also, I highlighted the image with my prismacolor pencils to help give the look of feathers. I also manipulated the image to hold the cookie from the Valentine Cookies set, instead of the branch. I die cut the image from the Inside Scalloped Rectangle Dies and the Sweetness sequins for some added interest.

Copic markers used: BV01, BV02, BV04, BV31, B60, RV21,
RV34, RV91, RV93, R81, R83, E71, E74, E77

I hope you enjoy the new digital images available now in the store at Craftin' Desert Divas. :)

Pizza my heart! -- Card for CDD Challenge

Hi crafty friends,

Sharing my Design Team card for the Craftin' Desert Divas January challenge. This month the theme is "Love is in the Air".

I used the amazing digi stamp set Pizza Bistro. I was able to manipulate the image by placing the stacked pizza boxes in the chefs hand. I also broke the sentiment up and placed it along the side. I used my trusty Copics for the coloring. I really love how this turned out. Go check out this image and others at the Craftin Desert Divas Website.

First post for Craftin Desert Divas

Hi there!

I hope everyone is doing well. I know its been a while, but I am excited to share my first post with Craftin' Desert Divas Digi Design Team!

This digital image is called Sloth Couple and is available at Craftin Desert Divas.

For this card I used Copic markers (colors listed below) and Prismacolor colored pencils. I first enlarged the digi stamp to fit the majority of the card front. One of the many perks of using digital stamps! I masked the sloths and stenciled the hearts in the background using Distress Oxide ink. I then removed the mask and colored the sloths with my copics and finished up with colored pencils to add the texture of the fur. The sentiment is also included with this. Again, because it is a digital stamp, I was able to change it to fit my card. I also used an awesome stencil called Hearts Galore and a couple sequins from the Sweetness pack.

Copic markers used: E13, E21, E23, E25, E27, E51, E31, E35, R27, R29
Distress Oxide Ink for background: Spun Sugar

I hope you enjoy the new digital images available now in the store. :)
